Today (in a nutshell)

Tonight I’m tired and lacking in the ability to enter “creative space” (#helpmearchie). Perhaps it’s because we just finished an accounting of the costs associated with our trip so far (math and numbers don’t exactly make me come alive), or maybe it’s because I’m not feeling too great (I think the drastically different diet here and the emotion and stress of the last few weeks have caught up with me a bit). But anyways, here’s what I’ve got.

Today’s highlights:

  • seeing monkeys cruising the street like you’d see a squirrel at home
  • some kind of an African water snake at dinner
  • walking to the Speake resort
  • horseback riding adventure for Macy, Owen and Tyra at the Speake resort (see pic below)
  • watching the lightning storm in the dark
  • Owen wanting to keep the bones from Dave’s fish dinner in order to do some “discoveries”
  • nap time

Not-so-highlights:

  • our washer breaking after just one full day of it actually working
  • Dave & Elias getting pooped on by one of the largest birds we have ever seen. Think larger than a pelican, smaller than an ostrich (seemingly closer to an ostrich, in our minds at least)

  1. Hello family! Jess so sorry to hear you are not well. Praying hard for more strength, peace in knowing all will work out, just let go and let God handle your worries. He is faithful, And that your tummy can calm and endure a few more weeks. Hopefully it will be the shorter time frame and not the full 6 wks. I love you and am so very proud of who you are and your wonderful heart!
